Iron City Garage:
We take the risk out of buying your next restoration project
After months of searching online, you’ve finally found the vintage car or truck of your dreams. It looks amazing! Just a little bit of rust and the interior is in decent shape. Great price too: only $2,500. Guy says he has a clean title. He’s friendly, has good ratings on eBay. There’s even a 100% Buyer Protection Guarantee. Perfect. You bid. Win. Feel the adrenaline rush. Yes! Finally! Car of your dreams!
So, you hitch up a trailer and hit the road. This is going to be a blast: windows down, sun shining, radio cranked. You’re thinking about what paint to choose. Silver? No, candy apple red. Then suddenly, sirens. Whoops - a speeding ticket. Great, there goes $175.00. After hours of driving, you pull into your motel, exhausted. The room smells like burnt popcorn and there’s an annoying buzzing sound that keeps you up all night.
Early the next morning, you head out to meet the seller. Turns out, the vin tag does not match the vin number on the title itself. And oh yeah, those pin holes in the floor are coming from a previous repair that he made with an old road sign.
The smell of varnish and rat turds sting your nostrils, there’s a colony of copperhead snakes under the passenger seat and there’s no way your trailer is fitting in between those two massive pine trees.
That $2,500 dream car has now turned into a $7,000 nightmare… and you haven’t even started the restoration yet. And as for that “100% Buyer Protection Guarantee?” Well, you missed the fine print; eBay doesn’t offer protection on anything over 10 years old. You’re miles away from home, took 3 days off of work to get here, and now you’re stuck.
Sound crazy? Believe me, it is. After driving across the country buying vintage vehicles for over five years, I’ve experienced it all: good, bad, and very ugly. And those mistakes haven’t come cheap.
Because no matter how good a vehicle looks in photos, you never know what really awaits you in person. And just because you think you know what to look for doesn’t mean you do. Only experience brings you that, which, after buying over 100 vintage trucks from the 40s and 50s, I have.
Think of me as the cheap insurance needed to guarantee you have zero chance of getting screwed like I have in the past. Let me worry about picking up the vehicle, the 107 degree temperatures, copperhead snakes and black widow spiders, and bad titles.
When you hire Iron City Garage, we will:
When we offer a vehicle for sale it is ready to be delivered and pushed into your work shop because we have eliminated any of the risks involved with electronic payments, titling and shipping.

- Hand pick your vehicle from an extensive network of reputable sellers and pickers throughout the west. Fun fact: If you bought it yourself and the vehicle turned out to be misrepresented, you might not be able to sue. And if you do have legal recourse, you must sue in the county in which you bought. Which is great if that’s local… but how about the boondocks of Oklahoma?
- Guarantee a clean title and buy it back if there’s a title issue. I’m a licensed Pennsylvania notary who understands the complicated legalese that can make your head spin and can quickly and efficiently resolve any title issue that arises. Fun fact: if any part of the language of the title is damaged, whether it be ripped or there’s even a hole in it, that title is dead.
- Deliver your vehicle to Pittsburgh where it will be prepped for sale, which includes cleaning out all debris, putting parts back on and sometimes making the vehicle run.
When we offer a vehicle for sale it is ready to be delivered and pushed into your work shop because we have eliminated any of the risks involved with electronic payments, titling and shipping.
